Port-Royal, Sept. 24, 1761.
When Robin's sloven pen his cause betrays,
In pantgyric, parallel, and lays;
And mother jingle scolds, in frantic ire,
Surcharg'd with lead, and gall, and muck, and mire;
Who can withhold his pity, from the first,
Or his laughter, at a dame so curs'd.
[signed] To Mother Jingle, of St. George's. M. J.
